When JetBlue has a round trip flight from Buffalo to Los Angeles for $250, you book the flight. And that's exactly how our trip began! We decided to rent a 1970s VW van through Vintage Surfari Wagons and drove through parts of the Pacific Coast Highway. First stop: Joshua Tree! The land of never-ending yucca trees and the coolest rock formations.
We arrived late at night and set up camp at the Jumbo Rocks campground. As soon as I got out of the van, I spent a good 10 minutes starring up at the sky - I was in complete awe at the endless sky of stars. It was so magical and a great start to the trip! We woke up the next morning greeted by a brisk, yet calming air. I instantly knew I was going to love this place - it was like no where I'd been before. Joshua Tree is a great place for hikes with the best views. From one lookout, we were even able to see Mexico! We weren't able to stay too long as we wanted to hit the road to our next camping spot, but I'll write more about it next week. 😉 Stay tuned!
Next stop: Point Mugu.
